If you don’t know much about something it’s easy to be suspicious and there’s a ton of myth and misinformation out there when it comes to Hypnosis. Some people assume all hypnosis is like the illusions created for entertainment by stage hypnosis shows, others consider it mystic mumbo jumbo or ‘mind control.’ For those who look beyond all the misconceptions, the truth is far more illuminating.

Possibly, the most powerful tool ever for change.

There are potentially huge benefits for those who use hypnosis. When you understand hypnosis you start to see its potential to fix all kinds of problems and improve people’s lives in virtually every way… physically, emotionally, and professionally.

Years ago I committed myself to learning all I could about hypnosis – I read everything i could find, learned every fact and practised every technique under the sun. I took numerous courses, attended trainings – some better than others. I’ve invested thousands of dollars and thousands of hours to the study of hypnosis and related fields like Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). I’ve hypnotised friends, family members, neighbors, work colleagues… even total strangers. Personally, Hypnosis has greatly improved my life and I’ve seen it improve the lives of countless others.

BeautyHypnosis: Who’s in control here?

In my experience, if someone expresses concerns about being ‘controlled’ in hypnosis what they really mean is they don’t want to be like a robot, forced to obey every whim of the hypnotist. The truth is, the hypnotic process is a cooperative effort between the hypnotist and the client. It’s as if I’m in the back seat of your car. And I’m telling you if you make a left, then a right, then another right, etc. you’re going to get to an amazing place that changes your life for the better. It’s up to you to follow my directions, to drive the car to get there. I just know the fast and easy way to get to where you want to go. You could choose not to follow my directions or even pull the car over and stop at any point. You’re driving the car. You’re in control.

So what is hypnosis like?

Let me begin with what Hypnosis is NOT. Hypnosis is not like a coma. It’s not unconsciousness or even anything like sleep. Hypnosis IS largely a natural human response to focused attention. This mental focus allows the client’s conscious mind to move to the background so the hypnotist can speak directly with the client’s subconscious mind. Just like updating the software on a computer or smart phone allows it to operate better, hypnosis allows us to ‘update’ the ‘software’ of our mind, get to the root of problems, and make positive changes at a very deep level.

Hypnosis is a lot like what happens when we go to a good movie or watch a fascinating TV program. The first thing we do is focus our attention on the screen. Next, we do something called ‘suspend disbelief’. So, while we know all the characters are really just actors, that there are directors, producers, lighting & sound professionals, etc. all working behind the scene to create the story, we mentally set all that aside, naturally. We ‘suspend disbelief’. We willingly allow ourselves to be drawn into the experience and that is largely what makes it so fun. We easily become so en’tranced’ we don’t even notice all the stuff going on around us. We automatically tune everything else out, and allow the experience, in a sense, to become real for us. Or bodies even respond as if it were real. As the excitement intensifies on the screen our heart rate actually increases and our breathing speeds up. When they want us to jump, we jump. When they want up to laugh, we laugh. When they want us to cry, we cry. And when it’s over, it felt like the time flew by… maybe it felt like twenty minutes when it was actually two hours (time distortion is a very common hypnotic phenomena). Hypnosis feels very similar. Because it is very similar.

What would you change about your life?

Over the years I’ve seen all kinds of people, all ages and from all backgrounds improve their lives, sometimes in very dramatic ways, thanks to hypnosis. You can use hypnosis to improve life in virtually any area. Using the power of hypnosis to create wonderful changes in people’s lives is the greatest feeling in the world for me. It never ceases to blow me away.

I help people end long-time bad habits, exchange problem behaviours for healthy ones, easily overcome fears, lose weight and keep it off forever, and so much more. I work with housewives, students, athletes, professionals, and everyone in between. I love what I do because every day I get to help people get what they want so they can be healthy, happy, and successful. So, what would you change about your life? What would you get rid of? What do you want more of? I’d love to help you get it.
